Musicians

The Vintage Brass performs as a brass quintet.  Our members are active in many other
organizations which often creates scheduling conflicts.  To assure that we can meet our
performing obligations we have alternate players for each instrument.

Tom Hessney Formerly of Massachusetts. B.S. from Berklee
Trumpet College in Boston, M.S.from University of
  Massachusetts Lowell. Member of Fred’s Big
  Band & Co., Lee County Community Band
  and Naples Symphony.
     
     
Jim Walker Formerly of North Carolina. Graduated from
Trumpet North Carolina State. Director of the German
  Band of Cape Coral and member of the Lee County
  Community Band.
   
     
Richard Bradstreet Formerly of Ohio. Graduate of Ohio
French Horn University with a Masters from Ohio
  State. Director of the Lee County
  Community Band.
   
     
Janice Hessney Formerly of Massachusetts. B.M. from
French Horn The Crane School of Music with a Masters from
  Simmons College in Boston. Director of
  Bands at PL Dunbar Middle School,
  Fort Myers.
     
Bruce Orlin Formerly of Wisconsin. Attended Northwest
Tuba University and studied with Arnold Jacobs.
  Member Lee County Community Band and
  Hafenkapelle German Band.  Also plays string
  bass for several big bands.
     
     
Pat Callen Pat is a graduate of the Navy School of Music and
Trombone is an Electrical Engineer from Penn State
  University.  Former principal trombone for the
  Gulf Coast Symphony, the Florida Brass and the
  Sovereign British Brass Band.  Currently lead
  trombone and director of the Townsmen Big
  Band orchestra.
     
Ronald Case Bachelors degree in Music Ed, University of Miami,
Trumpet Masters in conducting from State University of NY at
  Fredonia.  After retirement has done consulting for
  music educators, and offers private lessons.  He
  currently plsys with the Gulf Coast Symphony.
   
   
David McCormick Career began as a tuba player in the United States
Tuba Army band in Washington, DC.  He also was a
  high school, college and orchestral director, and a
  university administrator.  HE is an active tuba
  player, guest conductor, lecturer, clinician and
  adjudicator in many parts of Europe and America.
     
Ross Shaver Ross is a snowbird from Ontario, Canada.  A
Trumpet graduate of the University of Manitoba, he was a
  school band director for 34 years.  Currently he
  plays in the Lee County Community Band and the
  Kitchener Musical Society Band.  He directed the
  Seven Lakes Chorus for 5 years and plays with
  big bands in the area.
   
Rudolfo Castillo Graduate of Carnegie Mellon University; Assistant  
Trumpet Principal Trumpet Chile National Symphony; member
  and solist with Bonita Springs Concert Band; performs
  and solist with Bonita Springs Concert Band; performs
  Springs Charter School.
   
   
Ken Friedenberg Graguate of New England Conservatory of Music;
French Horn Principal horn Honolulu Symphony, Hong Kong
  Sinfonietta, Israel Chamber Orchestra and Gulf
  Coast Symphony
   
   
   
Matthew Murrell Graduate of Florida International University; Performs
